Second Street Bar and Grill (formerly Salty McDoogles) is sporting more than a new coat of paint and a new logo. Owner, Leigh Washam spent the winter of 2009 gutting and renovating the old restaurant to create Second Street Bar and Grill.

Washam kept everything that was great about Salty’s – namely the staff, the location and most of the existing menu – and updated the rest. The interior is cheerfully decorated with tropical touches, the menu is extensive and the food is great.

Their newly expanded menu includes Brunswick County seafood, steaks and a variety of sandwiches and flatbread wraps. Each dish is prepared fresh daily. Enjoy your meal surrounded by a brightly painted island motif with memorabilia from the Bahamas, Florida and California. Or if you like, take your meal outside on the porch under the shade of a colorful umbrella.

Second Street Bar & Grill open year round. They offer live entertainment in the summer with Karaoke Thursday through Sunday nights. Check their calendar for other live music. In the fall they have a pool table and the large screen tv’s around the restaurant and bar are tuned to the NFL Network.
